An unofficial, fan-made browser version of the abstract strategy game by James Wallis and Charles Leclerc. Play against the bot, at a private table with a friend, or with the next player who shows up. Nothing to install.

Two caps.
Everything moves short. A guard that lands on a rim power square picks up a cap and can slide across the board in straight lines. A guard that reaches a centre square takes the boss cap and moves like a boss. Capture by sandwich: trap an enemy piece between two of yours in a straight line.

Seize the center, take the bosses, or break the force.

Occupy all four crown squares at once. The crown is marked by a thin gold frame in the middle of the board.

Capture both opposing crest pieces. A boss can be sandwiched like any other piece; it just moves further.
Break the force
Reduce the opponent to two pieces. Two pieces cannot hold the center or cover each other, so the game ends there.
Red moves first. No luck, no draws.

SE!ZE is an original abstract strategy game designed by British game designer James Wallis with Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc, for creative agency Baby Teeth and Chivas Regal.
The name is a pun. Seize the board; and seize, French for sixteen: Leclerc’s race number and the age of the Chivas Regal 16 blend it launched alongside. Playtested with Playtest UK. Zero luck: king-step guards, short-range bosses, custodial capture, power caps on the rim, the boss cap in the center. Easy to learn, hard to master.

Ahead of the Italian GP, Leclerc faced chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura over a SE!ZE board at the Chivas Regal Arena of Mastery, livestreamed from Monza.

Chivas Regal's Monza release says SE!ZE will be available to play digitally later this year. This site is an independent fan implementation and will stay clearly labelled as unofficial.

Is this the official SE!ZE?
No. This is an unofficial, free fan-made web version, playable now in any browser. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the creators, Baby Teeth, Chivas Regal, or any rights holder. An official digital version has been announced for later in 2026.
Is it free?
Yes. Bot games, self-play, and public or private tables are free, and no account is needed to play. Your last ten games and lifetime stats are saved on this device; an optional account will keep them across devices.
Can I play a friend?
Yes. Open a private table and share the six-character table code. Public tables are open to anyone, and First found pairs you with the next player waiting.
Is it spelled SE!ZE or SEZE?
The game is SE!ZE, said "seize". People type it as SEZE, Seze, or "lets seze" when they search, and this site answers to all of them: letsseize.com is the unofficial place to play SE!ZE online.
Is SE!ZE like chess?
It is a two-player abstract strategy game in the same family as chess, draughts, Hive, and Onitama: an 8×8 board, no luck, and no draws. The pieces are simpler (two kinds, sixteen in all) and a game takes ten to twenty minutes, so it is quicker to learn and to finish.
How many players?
Two. Play the bot on your own, play a friend at a private table (share the six-character code or your letsseize.com link), or take the next player waiting online.
How do you win?
Occupy all four crown squares in the center, capture both enemy bosses, or reduce the opponent to two pieces. There are no draws.
Does surrounding a piece capture it?
The official rules say yes: a guard surrounded with no moves left is captured. This site plays sandwich-only by default and offers pinning as an opt-in variant when you start a bot or self-play game.
